Residency interview practice
Show residency programs the colleague they could be choosing.
Turn your rotations into convincing answers. An AI interviewer probes your decisions and program fit, with feedback to make every answer count.
For US MD and DO seniors and graduates this season.
- Voice only, no camera
- Reads your CV and the program
- Every day, up to two hours
$12.99 a week or $29.99 a month. Cancel anytime in Settings.
“Tell me about a mistake you made in patient care.”
- Clinical knowledge and reasoning
- Communication and patient-centeredness
- Judgment, ethics and professionalism
- Teamwork and leadership
“I’d rehearsed tell me about yourself. I hadn’t rehearsed someone asking what I personally did when a rotation went wrong. That was the useful part.”
Questions you’ll practice
Common phrasings of what this interview asks, and what each one tests. An AI program director works from your own application, so expect follow-ups on what you say.
-
“Tell me about a mistake you made in patient care.”
Tests: ownership, disclosure and what changed
-
“Walk me through this gap on your application.”
Tests: explaining a red flag without defensiveness
-
“Why this specialty?”
Tests: motivation grounded in real clinical moments
-
“Tell me about a difficult patient interaction.”
Tests: communication and empathy under strain
-
“Tell me about yourself.”
Tests: a two-minute story that leads somewhere
-
“What is your greatest weakness?”
Tests: honest self-assessment with a plan
-
“How do you handle stress on a busy rotation?”
Tests: resilience and healthy coping habits
-
“Where do you see yourself in five years?”
Tests: a realistic, specialty-specific career plan
-
“Why our program?”
Tests: research into the program’s own strengths
-
“What questions do you have for us?”
Tests: genuine interest in the program
Setup takes about two minutes.

See where your answer lost its point, what was missing and what to try next. Your own words, with feedback on each question and scores across four skills.
Honest, but the lesson arrived late.
“So, um, it was a really busy night, and I think there were a lot of things going on…”
Say what happened and what you did about it in your first two sentences, then what you do differently now.
-
“Tell me about a mistake you made in patient care.”
You owned it. Lead with the disclosure, not the context.
-
“Walk me through this gap on your application.”
Calm and brief. Finish on what it means for residency.
-
“Why our program?”
Named two real features of the program. Tie one to your own plans.
Illustrative example. Your scores will differ.
“My why-this-program answer sounded the same for every program. Practicing with each program’s details helped me make a more specific case.”
One question, and what a strong answer does
An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.
“Tell me about a time you disagreed with a senior resident about a patient’s plan.”
Follow-up: “What did you actually say to them, and what happened next?”
What a strong answer does
- Sets up one specific situation in a sentence or two, with no patient identifiers.
- Shows how the concern was raised: respectfully, at the right moment, through the right channel.
- Puts patient safety ahead of being right, and says when it would have been escalated.
- Ends with what changed, and what was carried into the next rotation.
What a mock residency interview costs

One hour with a physician mock interviewer: $500.

A session
A MedSchoolCoach mock is an hour with a physician interviewer and detailed verbal feedback: use Bossed for the reps, and a human for the final polish if you can. Confetto adds video and body-language analysis. Bossed is voice only, built from your own application, at about a tenth of Confetto’s monthly price. Details for other services are as each publishes them on its own site, checked October 4, 2026.
Spoken interview sessions, up to two hours of interviews a day
A week of focused preparation when your interview is just days away.
Need more than a week? Two weekly payments total $25.98. From three weeks on, the monthly plan costs less.
Cancel anytime in Settings, with no cancellation fee. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Before you ask
Is an AI good enough?
For the reps, yes. It asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said, up to two hours a day, at 2 a.m. or the night before. Then it scores four skills and quotes your own words back, so you know exactly which answer to fix.
Voice only?
Yes, no camera. You practice saying it, which is the part that goes wrong. It does not grade body language. The AAMC continues to recommend virtual interviews for residency programs.
Will it know my specialty and my program?
Upload your CV and paste the program’s page. It asks why there, from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.
How fast can I start?
Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.
How it works
Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.
-
Add your CV and the program
Upload your CV or paste your personal statement, then paste the program’s page. No account needed, and setup takes about two minutes.
-
Interview out loud
Pick 10, 15 or 20 minutes. One AI program director asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said.
-
Get scored on four skills
Clinical reasoning, communication, judgment and teamwork, each scored, with your own words quoted back and a note on every question.
-
Go again before the next program
Swap in the next program’s page and practice the questions that interview will bring.
The night before
The same evening, two ways.
Without rehearsing
- You’ve read your answers. You’ve never heard yourself say them.
- Your mistake story still starts with the whole shift.
- Your “why this program” could be about any program.
After practicing out loud
- You’ve said every answer out loud, with a follow-up behind it.
- The mistake is two sentences of what happened and one of what changed.
- Your “why this program” names something only this program has.
