Use what you learned in the first round

Write down the responsibilities, concerns and projects the interviewer mentioned. Identify where your previous answers were broad or where you promised to provide more detail. Start your next rehearsal with those points so you have something new to offer.

  • Prepare an extra example for the two skills the first interviewer emphasised.
  • Review the decisions behind your results so you can explain tradeoffs.
  • Bring questions about expectations, the team’s current challenges and what success would look like.

Be ready when they ask for the detail

Bossed uses your CV and the job to guide a spoken mock interview, including follow-ups to your answers. Practise explaining the evidence behind a result and the choices behind a decision. Use what you learned in the first round to choose the examples you most need to rehearse.

Try it now

Practise one answer, then a follow-up

You mentioned improving a process. How did you know the change worked?

  1. Jot down the main point, the example you will use and the result you want to explain.
  2. Record your answer out loud. Listen for anything a person unfamiliar with your work would struggle to follow.
  3. Answer again with that part made clearer. Then ask yourself: “What else could have caused the result, and how did you check?”

Put your answer to the test with Bossed. Rehearse out loud and get specific feedback with a paid plan. Build my interview prep plan → Your readiness quiz and prep plan are free.

Questions about your practice

Should I memorise my answers?
Use a few notes to remember the example, then explain it in your own words. Practise answering a follow-up so you can adapt when the interviewer asks for more detail.

Bossed uses your CV and the job description to run a spoken mock interview, with follow-up questions based on your answers. Afterwards, you get session feedback to help you decide what to improve. The quiz and preparation plan are free; spoken interviews require a paid plan.
