See where your answer lost its point, what was missing and what to try next. Your own words, with feedback on each question and scores across four skills.
Keen and likeable, but “why us” could have been about any employer.
“I’ve always really liked the company and I think it’s a great place to start.”
Name one thing this employer actually does, then say what you have done that connects to it.
-
“Why have you chosen a degree apprenticeship over going to university full time?”
Clear, and about the career. Cut the part about student debt.
-
“Why this scheme, and why this career?”
A real interest, then it drifted. Finish on the scheme.
-
“Tell me about a time you worked in a team.”
Good example. The follow-up asked what you did: say “I”, not “we”.
Illustrative example. Your scores will differ.
“My why-this-employer answer could have been for any company. The follow-up made me connect the scheme to something I actually wanted to learn.”
One question, and what a strong answer does
An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.
“What do you know about us, and why do you want to work here rather than somewhere else?”
Follow-up: “Which part of the business would you most like to work in, and why?”
What a strong answer does
- Names one specific thing the company does or makes, not a line from its careers page.
- Links it to something you have already done or enjoyed.
- Shows you know what the scheme involves: the rotations, the degree, the day job.
- Answers the follow-up with a real preference and a reason, not “anywhere”.

Before you ask
I don’t have much work experience. Will it still work?
Yes. Upload whatever CV you have. The interviewer asks about school, part-time work and outside interests, and the follow-ups help you find the example behind each strength.
Will it know the employer?
Paste the listing and add the employer’s own website. The interviewer asks why there from what the company says about itself. It is built not to guess at facts the employer’s site doesn’t give.
Is an AI good enough?
For the reps, yes. It asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said, as many times as you want, at 2 a.m. or the night before. Then it scores four skills and quotes your own words back, so you know exactly which answer to fix.
How fast can I start?
Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.
How it works
Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.
-
Add your CV and the scheme
Upload your CV, then paste the scheme’s listing link or its description. Add the employer’s website if you have it. Setup takes about two minutes.
-
Interview out loud
One AI hiring manager asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said.
-
Get scored on four skills
Technical, communication, problem solving and teamwork, each scored, with your own words quoted back and feedback question by question.
-
Follow a plan to the day
Set your interview date and Bossed builds a daily practice plan up to it, aimed at your weakest skill.
The night before
The same evening, two ways.
Without rehearsing
- You wrote “why this company” in your application. You’ve never said it out loud.
- “Why not university?” still sounds like you’re avoiding something.
- Your best example is from school, and you’re not sure it counts.
After practising out loud
- Your “why this company” names something the company actually does.
- “Why not university?” is about the career you want, said in a breath.
- You’ve told your best example out loud, and the follow-up didn’t throw you.
Good to know
