Questions you’ll practice

Common phrasings of what this interview asks, and what each one tests. An AI program director works from your own application, so expect follow-ups on what you say.

  1. “You didn’t match. What do you think happened?”

    Tests: honest reflection without blame

  2. “Tell me about yourself in one minute.”

Tests: a short, calm summary under pressure

  3. “Why are you applying to a different specialty now?”

Tests: a credible reason for the change

  4. “Why are you interested in our program?”

Tests: quick research and genuine interest

  5. “What would you bring to our program from day one?”

    Tests: concrete strengths, stated plainly

  6. “Tell me about a time you handled a setback.”

Tests: resilience you can back with evidence

  7. “Where would you see yourself after a preliminary year?”

Tests: a realistic plan that respects this position

  8. “Tell me about a time you worked well on a team.”

Tests: teamwork in a busy clinical setting

  9. “Do you have any questions for us?”

Tests: interest in the position, kept brief

Know what to change before the real interview

See where your answer lost its point, what was missing and what to try next. Your own words, with feedback on each question and scores across four skills.

Honest, but it ran past the point.

In your words
“So I think, um, maybe my list was a bit too narrow, and also the interview season was…”

Do this next time

One sentence on what happened, one on what you learned, then straight to what you bring here.

By question
  1. “You didn’t match. What do you think happened?”

No blame, good. Cut it to two sentences and move on.

  2. “Tell me about yourself in one minute.”

Calm and clear. End on why this program, not on your history.

  3. “Why are you applying to a different specialty now?”

Believable. Name one thing about this specialty you want.

“I was too wound up to read more advice. A short practice call helped me get through my introduction and the question about what had happened this season.”

One question, and what a strong answer does

An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.

Illustrative example, not a real session
Program director

“You applied to a different specialty. Why are you interested in our preliminary program?”

Follow-up: “Where do you see yourself after this year?”

What a strong answer does

  • Answers directly and honestly, without running down the first choice.
  • Names something specific about this program or this year that fits.
  • Shows what you bring to the team from day one.
  • Keeps it under two minutes.

Before you ask

How fast can I start?

Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.

Is a week enough?

The weekly plan is $12.99: a week of focused preparation when your interview is just days away. Need more than a week? Two weekly payments total $25.98. From three weeks on, the monthly plan costs less.

Is an AI good enough?

For the reps, yes. It asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said, up to two hours a day, at 2 a.m. or the night before. Then it scores four skills and quotes your own words back, so you know exactly which answer to fix.

Can I practice for the program that just called?

Yes. Paste its page and the interviewer asks why that program, from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.

How it works

Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.

  1. Add your CV and the program

Upload your CV and paste the program’s page if you have it. No account needed, and setup takes about two minutes.

  2. Interview out loud

Pick 10 minutes to fit between calls, or 15 or 20 if you have time. One AI program director asks, listens and follows up.

  3. Get scored on four skills

Clinical reasoning, communication, judgment and teamwork, with your own words quoted back and a note on every question.

  4. Go again before the next call

Swap in the next program’s page and run another 10 minutes.

The night before

The same evening, two ways.

Without rehearsing

  • You’ve refreshed your email more times than you’ve said your answers out loud.
  • Your “why a different specialty” answer doesn’t exist yet.
  • You don’t know how you sound on a short call.

After practicing out loud

  • Your short “tell me about yourself” is said out loud and lands on fit.
  • Your “why this specialty” is honest, short and ready.
  • You’ve run a short interview between calls, and you’d do it again.

Questions

What to know before you start practicing.

How fast can I start?
Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account: add your CV, paste a program’s page if you have one, and start talking.
Is the interviewer a real person?
No. One AI program director asks the questions out loud, listens and follows up on what you said.
Does it use my camera or record video?
No. It is voice only: no camera and no video, so it does not grade body language. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.
How long is a session?
You choose 10, 15 or 20 minutes. Pick 10 to fit a session between calls.
What does it cost?
$12.99 a week or $29.99 a month, in US dollars, with up to two hours of interviews a day on either. You can cancel anytime in Settings.
What doesn’t it cover?
Each session is one spoken interview with one AI interviewer. It does not cover the SOAP application or rank process, USMLE or other exam content, visa questions or image or ECG interpretation.
