Questions you’ll practice

Common phrasings of what this interview asks, and what each one tests. An AI admissions interviewer works from your own application, so expect follow-ups on what you say.

  1. “In about a minute: tell us something about you that is not in your application.”

Tests: range beyond your resume, said fast

  2. “In about a minute: introduce yourself to the admissions committee.”

Tests: a crisp story with one clear thread

  3. “Why this school?”

    Tests: specific research, said quickly

  4. “Tell me about a time you led a team.”

Tests: leadership in a short, structured answer

  5. “What is your short-term goal after the MBA?”

    Tests: a focused, believable plan

  6. “Tell me about a time you failed.”

Tests: ownership and what you learned

  7. “What would your colleagues say is your biggest weakness?”

    Tests: self-awareness without a humblebrag

  8. “If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?”

    Tests: thinking on your feet

  9. “Tell me about a time you persuaded someone who disagreed with you.”

    Tests: influence and communication

  10. “What will you contribute to your classmates?”

    Tests: a concrete, distinctive contribution

Do this next time

Say the answer in your first sentence, then one example. Stop when the example lands.

By question
  1. “In about a minute: tell us something about you that is not in your application.”

A memorable detail, buried at the end. Open with it.

  2. “Why this school?”

Named two real things from the school’s page. Cut the ranking.

  3. “Tell me about a time you led a team.”

Clear role and result. The follow-up asked what you did; answer that first next time.

“I wanted to sound natural, but I’d memorized whole paragraphs. The different prompts helped me work from the story instead of trying to remember the script.”

One question, and what a strong answer does

An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.

Illustrative example, not a real session
Admissions interviewer

“In about a minute: why is now the right time for you to do an MBA?”

Follow-up: “What would you do if you didn’t get in this year?”

What a strong answer does

  • Opens with the answer, not the backstory.
  • Names one concrete trigger from the last year or two of work.
  • Links the timing to a specific post-MBA goal.
  • Finishes cleanly inside the minute, with no trailing “so yeah”.

Before you ask

Does it record me like Kira?

No. No camera, no recording, no countdown. It is practice for what you say, so the words are ready when the real recording starts.

Is an AI good enough?

It is not an admissions officer. It asks, listens, follows up on what you actually said, then scores four skills and quotes your own words back. A one-way platform never follows up; the follow-ups are what sharpen the answer.

Will it know my school?

Upload your resume and paste the school’s MBA page. It asks why there from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.

How fast can I start?

Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.

How it works

Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.

  1. Add your resume and the school

Upload your resume, then paste the school’s MBA page. Both are optional, and setup takes about two minutes.

  2. Answer out loud

Pick 10 minutes for a quick set of prompts. The AI interviewer asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said.

  3. Get scored on four skills

Track record and goals, communication and presence, judgment and self-awareness, leadership and teamwork, with feedback question by question.

  4. Run another set

Go again with new prompts, or swap in the next school’s page before its video interview.

The night before

The same evening, two ways.

Without rehearsing

  • You’ve written bullet points for every prompt. You’ve never timed yourself saying them.
  • Your introduction starts with where you went to college.
  • Your “why this school” could be about any school.

After practicing out loud

  • You’ve said each answer out loud, and you know which ones run past the minute.
  • Your introduction opens with the thread that ties your story together.
  • Your “why this school” names something from the school’s own page.

Good to know

15 minutes by default

Choose 10, 15 or 20 minutes. Pick 10 for a quick set of short prompts. This is practice for the content, not a timed recording.

Voice only

Voice-only practice of Kira-style questions: no video, no recording, no timer. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.

Your interviewer’s accent

Your interviewer speaks with an American accent. You can change it in Settings.

Practice before you submit, so the video questions are not new.

Questions

What to know before you start practicing.

Does it record video like Kira?
No. Bossed is voice only: no camera, no video recording and no countdown timer. It is practice for what you say, so the answers are ready when the real recording starts.
Is the interviewer a real person?
No. One AI interviewer asks the questions out loud, listens and follows up on what you said. A one-way platform never follows up; the follow-ups here make your answers sharper.
Can I practice for a specific school?
Yes. Paste the school’s MBA page during setup and the interviewer asks why that program, from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.
How long is a session?
You choose 10, 15 or 20 minutes; 15 is preselected. For one-way prep, 10 minutes is a good set of short prompts, and you can start another straight after.
What does it cost?
$29.99 a month or $12.99 a week, in US dollars, with up to two hours of interviews a day. The weekly plan is for when your interview is just days away; from three weeks on, the monthly plan costs less. Cancel anytime in Settings, with no cancellation fee, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
What doesn’t it cover?
Each session is one spoken interview with one AI interviewer. It does not cover a timed video recording (there is no camera and no countdown), written timed answers, the live interview that may follow a video round or essay or GMAT review.
