Questions you’ll practise

Common phrasings of what this interview asks, and what each one tests. An AI alumni interviewer works from your own application, so expect follow-ups on what you say.

  1. “Why an MBA, why now, and why a one-year programme?”

Tests: a reason that fits the format

  2. “Talk me through your CV.”

Tests: a clear career story in a few minutes

  3. “What do you want to be doing in five years, and where?”

Tests: goals that are specific and credible

  4. “Tell me about a time you worked across cultures.”

Tests: international outlook with a real example

  5. “Tell me about a setback and what you changed afterwards.”

    Tests: reflection and resilience

  6. “How would your team describe you?”

Tests: self-awareness from others’ point of view

  7. “Which languages do you speak, and how did you learn them?”

Tests: international readiness and how you learn

  8. “Why this school?”

    Tests: research beyond the rankings

  9. “What questions do you have for me?”

Tests: genuine curiosity about the school

Setup takes about two minutes.

A strong career, told as a list. The thread between the moves was missing.

In your words
“Then after that I moved to Singapore, and then I joined a fintech, and then…”

Do this next time

Give each move one reason. Finish on why the MBA is the next one.

By question
  1. “Why an MBA, why now, and why a one-year programme?”

A good reason for the format. “Why now” needs one concrete trigger.

  2. “Talk me through your CV.”

Complete, but long. Cut to the three moves that explain the rest.

  3. “Tell me about a time you worked across cultures.”

A real example. The follow-up asked what you changed: say it first.

Illustrative example. Your scores will differ.

Testimonial
“The international teamwork story was one I thought I knew. Talking it through showed me I was describing the disagreement without explaining how I handled it.”

One question, and what a strong answer does

An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.

Illustrative example, not a real session
Alumni interviewer

“Why INSEAD rather than a two-year programme in the US?”

Follow-up: “And what would you miss by doing it in one year?”

What a strong answer does

  • Gives a reason tied to your own career, not the school’s rankings.
  • Names something specific from the programme’s page.
  • Is honest about the trade-off when the follow-up comes.
  • Keeps it conversational: an alumnus is checking how you would fit in a class.

What a mock interview costs

A consultant-led mock is one good session. Bossed is for every repetition before and after it.

One mock interview with an mbaMission senior consultant: $950.

A month of Bossed interviews: $29.99.

An mbaMission mock is with a senior consultant, who brings a person’s judgement of your programme and a live debrief. Bossed is an AI and is not that. Use it for the reps, and a person for the final check if you can. Details for other services are as each publishes them on its own site, checked 4 October 2026.

Before you ask

Can I use it from outside the UK?

Yes. It runs in your browser wherever you are, at any hour. Prices are in US dollars.

Is an AI good enough?

For the reps, yes. It asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said, up to two hours a day, at 2 a.m. or the night before. Then it scores four skills and quotes your own words back, so you know exactly which answer to fix.

Will it know my school?

Upload your CV and paste the programme’s page. It asks why there from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.

How fast can I start?

Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.

How it works

Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.

  1. Add your CV and the programme

Upload your CV, then paste the MBA programme’s page. Both are optional, and setup takes about two minutes.

  2. Interview out loud

Pick 10, 15 or 20 minutes. One AI alumni interviewer asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said.

  3. Get scored on four skills

Track record and goals, communication and presence, judgement and self-awareness, leadership and teamwork, with feedback question by question.

  4. Go again before each interview

Swap in the next programme’s page, or run a second alumni interview with a different style.

The night before

The same evening, two ways.

Without rehearsing

  • You’ve read your CV a dozen times. You’ve never told it as a story.
  • Your “why a one-year programme” sounds like the brochure.
  • You’re not sure how an alumnus will follow up.

After practising out loud

  • You’ve told your career out loud, with a reason for every move.
  • Your “why this format” is about your plans, not the school’s.
  • You’ve answered the follow-up before, and it no longer surprises you.

Good to know

15 minutes by default

Choose 10, 15 or 20 minutes; 15 is preselected. Real alumni interviews often run longer.

Voice only

Voice only: no camera and no video, so nothing to set up and nothing on film. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.

Your interviewer’s accent

Your interviewer speaks with a British accent. You can change it in Settings.

Practise before the invitation arrives, so the conversation is easy whenever it comes.

Questions

What to know before you start practising.

Is the interviewer a real person?
No. One AI interviewer asks the questions out loud, listens and follows up on what you said, in the conversational way an alumnus would.
Does it use my camera or record video?
No. It is voice only: no camera and no video. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.
Can I practise for INSEAD or LBS specifically?
Yes. Paste the programme’s own MBA page during setup and the interviewer asks why that school, from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.
I’m applying from the UAE or Singapore. Does it work?
Yes. It runs in your browser wherever you are. The interviewer speaks with a British accent, and you can change it in Settings.
What does it cost?
$29.99 a month or $12.99 a week, in US dollars, wherever you are, with up to two hours of interviews a day. The weekly plan is for when your interview is just days away; from three weeks on, the monthly plan costs less. Cancel at any time in Settings, with no cancellation fee, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
What doesn’t it cover?
Each session is one spoken interview with one AI interviewer. It does not cover the full length of a real interview (a session is 10, 15 or 20 minutes), the Kira video assessment and timed written answers, essay or GMAT review or case interviews.
