Questions you’ll practice

Common phrasings of what this interview asks, and what each one tests. An AI admissions interviewer works from your own application, so expect follow-ups on what you say.

  1. “Your profile looks like many others in IT. What makes you different?”

Tests: a distinctive story, not a category

  2. “Walk me through your resume.”

Tests: a clear story beyond job titles

  3. “Why an MBA abroad rather than in India?”

Tests: a reason tied to your goals

  4. “Tell me about your impact, in numbers.”

Tests: quantified results you can explain

  5. “Tell me about a time you led a team through change.”

Tests: leadership with a concrete outcome

  6. “What will you do after the MBA, and where?”

Tests: credible goals and location plans

  7. “Tell me about a failure and what you learned.”

    Tests: ownership and growth

  8. “How will you contribute to a diverse class?”

Tests: a distinctive perspective, shared well

  9. “Why this school?”

Tests: research into the school’s own strengths

Do this next time

Say “I” for what you did, then one number that shows what changed.

By question
  1. “Your profile looks like many others in IT. What makes you different?”

A real difference, said late. Open with it.

  2. “Why an MBA abroad rather than in India?”

Tied to a goal. The follow-up asked why not ISB: have that answer ready.

  3. “Tell me about your impact, in numbers.”

Good numbers. Make your own part in them clear.

One question, and what a strong answer does

An example of the kind of question you’ll be asked, and what the feedback looks for.

Illustrative example, not a real session
Admissions interviewer

“You have a strong career in Bangalore. Why do you need an MBA to get where you want to go?”

Follow-up: “Why not stay and get promoted instead?”

What a strong answer does

  • Names a specific post-MBA role and why the current path does not reach it.
  • Uses one example from your work, with your own contribution clear.
  • Treats the follow-up as a fair question, not a challenge to deflect.
  • Stays concise: two minutes at most, then stops.

What a mock interview costs

A consultant-led mock is one good session. Bossed is for every repetition before and after it.

One mock interview with an mbaMission senior consultant: $950.

A month of Bossed interviews: $29.99.

An mbaMission mock is with a senior consultant, who brings a person’s judgment of your program and a live debrief. Bossed is an AI and is not that. Use it for the reps, and a person for the final check if you can. Details for other services are as each publishes them on its own site, checked October 4, 2026.

Before you ask

Can I use it from India?

Yes. It runs in your browser, at any hour, so you can practice after work. Prices are in US dollars.

Will it understand my accent?

Your answers are transcribed and graded on what you say. Your feedback quotes your own words back, so you can see what it heard.

Will it know my school?

Upload your resume and paste the school’s MBA page, whether a US school, INSEAD or ISB. It asks why there from what the page says. It is built not to guess at facts the page doesn’t give.

How fast can I start?

Setup takes about two minutes and needs no account. You choose a plan before your first interview.

How it works

Set up in about two minutes, then interview out loud and see your scores.

  1. Add your resume and the school

Upload your resume, then paste the school’s MBA page. Both are optional, and setup takes about two minutes.

  2. Interview out loud

Pick 10, 15 or 20 minutes. One AI admissions interviewer asks, listens and follows up on what you actually said.

  3. Get scored on four skills

Track record and goals, communication and presence, judgment and self-awareness, leadership and teamwork, with feedback question by question.

  4. Go again for each school

Swap in the next school’s page, US, European or Indian, and practice the questions that interview will bring.

The night before

The same evening, two ways.

Without rehearsing

  • Your resume is strong. Out loud, it sounds like everyone else’s in your field.
  • You say “we” when the interviewer wants to hear “I”.
  • Your “why abroad” is a wish to grow, not a goal.

After practicing out loud

  • You open with the one thing that makes your profile yours.
  • Your impact stories say what you did, and what changed because of it.
  • Your “why abroad” names the role, the place and why the degree gets you there.

Choose 10, 15 or 20 minutes; 15 is preselected. Real MBA interviews are usually longer than one session.

Voice only

Voice only: no camera and no video, so nothing to set up and nothing on film. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.

Your interviewer’s accent

Your interviewer speaks with an American accent. You can change it in Settings.

Practice before your first invitation, so every school hears your best answers.

Questions

What to know before you start practicing.

Yes. The interviewer speaks with an American accent by default. Choose a British accent in Settings for a UK or European school.
Is it for IIM interviews?
It is built for one-to-one admissions and alumni interviews at global schools, including ISB. It does not cover IIM WAT-PI or group discussions.
Does it use my camera or record video?
No. It is voice only: no camera and no video. Your spoken answers are transcribed so they can be scored.
What does it cost?

What doesn’t it cover?
Each session is one spoken interview with one AI interviewer. It does not cover IIM WAT-PI, written ability tests and group discussions, panel interviews with several interviewers at once, the Wharton team-based discussion, the full length of a real interview (a session is 10, 15 or 20 minutes) or essay or GMAT review.
