Demo session
The interviewer asks

Tell me about a technical decision where the simplest option was the right one.

The answer
We needed a daily report and initially discussed building a new service. I checked the volume and ownership requirements, then suggested a scheduled job in our existing platform. It met the delivery window and used monitoring the team already understood. We documented the point at which we would reconsider.

Before you start

How to prepare your examples and get the most from your practice.

How should I prepare for this interview?
Bring a design trade-off, a production lesson and a disagreement you resolved. Practise explaining them to someone outside your immediate technical area.
Will these questions come up in my interview?
These are original practice examples covering useful themes for this role. Your employer will choose its own questions. Match your preparation to the job description and the interview invitation.
Can I use examples from study or volunteering?
Yes. Pick a real situation where you made a decision, helped someone or solved a problem. Explain your own contribution and be clear about the setting.
Should I memorise the example answer?
Use it to understand the structure, then practise with your own experience. A story you know well is easier to adapt when the interviewer asks a follow-up.
How does spoken practice help?
Saying an answer out loud reveals the details you skip and the parts that run on. Bossed gives feedback so you can improve one part and try again.
