Google Interview Warmup review (2026)

Written by Anuj, founder of Bossed · Updated · A review of published product information, with our assessment

The short answer

Interview Warmup is gone, so the choice is what replaces it. Choose Bossed if you want spoken practice tailored to your CV and target role, with follow-up questions and feedback on technical skills, communication, problem solving and teamwork, on a paid plan of $29.99 a week or $49.99 a month. For a free option, record yourself on your phone against a question list, or try Huru or Yoodli’s free allowance.

What it is, and who it is for

Interview Warmup was a free Grow with Google tool for answering practice questions aloud. You spoke an answer, read the live transcription and reviewed insights such as the job-related terms and talking points you covered. It is no longer available: on 22 October 2026 both official addresses redirected to the Grow with Google home page, and other interview-prep sites report that it was retired in April 2026. We could not find an announcement from Google.

Former users looking for a replacement, and anyone who wants the same habit: answering one question at a time out loud, then reviewing what they actually said.

What works

  • Free while it lasted.
  • Answering aloud and reading the transcript back is a sound way to start.
  • Google’s launch article still explains the approach.

What to weigh

  • No longer available: the official addresses redirect to the Grow with Google home page.
  • Questions came from set lists, one per Google Career Certificate plus general questions, not from your CV or the job you applied for.
  • Google described transcription and answer insights, not follow-up questions or a score; the insights were never an employer’s assessment.

A closer look at Google Interview Warmup

How to use it well, and what to check before you pay.

What the original tool was designed to do

Google described a way to speak answers, read the transcription and inspect the topics and terminology used. The point was reflection and repetition, designed for Google Career Certificates learners and opened to everyone with general questions for many fields.

What happened to it

On 22 October 2026, grow.google/interview-warmup and grow.google/certificates/interview-warmup/ both redirected to the Grow with Google home page, which no longer carries the tool. Interview-prep sites date the closure to April 2026. Google did not publish a notice that we could find, so old links in career-service guides now lead nowhere useful.

Keep your preparation moving

Choose one question, record your answer and write down the key points you actually covered. Identify a missing decision or result, then try again. Use Bossed when you want the questions, the follow-ups and the feedback in the same session.

Where Bossed differs

Bossed keeps the part of Warmup that worked, answering one question at a time out loud, and adds what it never did: questions built from your CV and the job, follow-ups on what you said, and feedback on four interview skills.
